Undefeated No More
Well, it was bound to happen. I think even the most optimistic fan among us didn't see this team going 16-0. But, still, that was a rough game. The offense moved the ball well at times and the defense had stretches where they seemed to have Byron Leftwich's number. But from the moment Reggie Myles touched the football and wiped out a 69 yard punt, the penalties piled up and special teams was either feast or famine. The rushing defense disappeared for most of the game. Then again, it was Fred Taylor who was gashing them so maybe there's some comfort you can take there.
So what do you take out of the loss? Is it just a bump in the road? Is this the beginning of the end for our post-season aspirations?

Twitterpated?! HAHAHAHA, interesting.
No, I think that loss was needed. They played their butts off and by all means should've won the game, but they didn't. I think that'll keep them level headed. They know now that they're not perfect and they should take that with them onto every field they play on for the rest of the year and they'll try to make it not happen again. I think the rest of the year is going to be really exciting for them and for the fans.

I agree with that. That's what is supposed to happen after a loss, forget about it and move on.
My point is simply, they started 4-0 for the first time since 88. Even though Marvin was pumping this into their head and they were reflecting it that they have to take each game at a time and a win means nothing until the end of the season, there has to still be some feelings of "we're unstoppable" in there somewhere. This loss just keeps them grounded.
And I don't ever remember a team going 15-1 for the year and it being a bad thing.
I see what you're saying, but I think a loss now is a good thing. They can take a step back, a deep breath, and go straight foreward for the rest of the season and make an even bigger impact than what they have so far.
I guess in my twisted mind a loss now is a good thing. I guess we'll see this week and the rest of the season.
